Today

We are going to my friend and neighbor's funeral today. It is always a shock to me when someone I know dies. I guess we had better get used to it. While we are at the funeral home, Andy and I are going to make our arrangements. (Isn't this a cheerful addition to the post?) I asked my niece to write my obituary because she wrote such a poignant one for her sister. Nancy, my niece, was in my house thirty minutes after I asked her by messenger. They were on the road and happened to be near Columbus and nothing would do but they would come for a few minutes to check on us. We are in great health and in the top ten list of most healthy old people by our doctor who is head of geriatrics at The Ohio State University. We proved our point and they drove away convinced we were healthy, but odd. Now that is going to happen more and more often. It is nice to have some  one concerned about our welfare.

I am not cooking lately so I have no food news.  I am enjoying channel 252. I like Masterpiece on public TV.  I like Escape to the Country on channel 188 starting at 4:00 each day and going to 7:00. Nate likes to pop in some days to see the show and wants to include the English country side in his travels if things ever settle down. This year he is sticking to America. His business shuts down every winter and that's the time he hits the road for around three months. We miss him, but glad he is adventurous.

Talk to you later.

To the doctor

We are off to the doctor to have Andy checked out since he has had two falls.  We thought to wait until his appointment on the 20th, but aft...
