I just read that an eleven pound turkey cost the equivalent of $424. in a Paris market. I bought a 20 pound turkey for $10. It's good to live in America.
However, now we are tired of my talking turkey and 'eating' pictures and it is time to move on to other subjects. The next big thing, of course, is Christmas. Very little cooking will be involved as far as I am concerned. On Christmas Eve we all get dressed to the nines and have reservations to eat out in the same fine restaurant as we always do. Christmas Day we are all going to see the movie Unbroken. Both Andy and Beth have read the book and raved about the true story that is hard to believe. Any day after Christmas that the roads are clear, Joe, Glenda, Andy and I drive to Florida to the beach for a month. The dogs are very sad, but we need to get away and then I am always eager to get home. There is nothing like the feeling of arriving home. We will have company galore during that month, but there will be down time too sitting in the sun on the beach, reading, playing cards with cocktails, and working our new sets of puzzles. The New England Eatery is calling my name and I have oysters on the brain.
Mike and Nate left this morning to join Adam in Colorado for a skiing trip and to look at a Bible college for Adam. They are giddy with anticipation...or is it me?
I just noticed how pretty Pam looks in the photo below. She's a 'toaster'...and George is sampling his handy work. Glenda is all better now and is looking spiffy.
