Florence:
Yesterday we visited the Academy and saw the statue of David by Michelangelo. It was magnificent. We never realized how large the statue is and all of the delicate details are amazing. Then we strolled through Florence and visited some local shops and viewed the Florence cathedral , the Duomo. Another breathtaking site. We have been so fortunate to see so many historical and beautiful sites this past week.
In the evening we went to the Machiavelli winery on the mountain tops of Tuscany. We were greeted by the master chef and some blue champagne to start the evening. Next a man dressed in costume dated to the 13th century took us back in time on a historical tour through an underground tunnel to get to the restaurant . The restaurant had unlimited wine,fantastic food, and a musical trio that were fantastic. We had so much fun and hated to leave. When the time came to go Chee, Beth and I waited for Alex to use the ladies room while the group headed for the bus. After several glasses of wine we thought we should exit the same way we came in through the secret tunnel. Our first clue that wasn't right should have been the dark stairs and the bars on the door. Once we found our way back and one of the workers led us to the bus. All I remember is looking up at the bus and Pam transforming into Hilda with her crooked finger scolding us for being late. She quickly got over that and led the bus int song and dance moves. After the evening Chee was not sure if she could face the group at breakfast. What a great day when you are still laughing the next day.

On the home front:
I am going to try these. The first meal I ever made for Beth and her family was Beef Bourguignonne but not these puff pastry buns, the regular beef bourguignonne but instead of stew meat I used filet mignon.
