ahhhh, they are back... and wisdom from Heather

OMG
The little #$%$%^%^%%^ sugar ants are back! Already.  Those tiny little hard to even see ants that have plagued me for years.  I have asked Andy to go get Borax and I will mix that with sugar and leave it in all the places that I know where they seem to come out. I refuse to call the ant man.  He charges $200. a visit and that's another annoying thing! They squirt a little gel here and there and it is fine for a summer, but they are back the next time it even threatens to be warm.  I saw some during the winter!  Right now I have squirted Dawn every place.  At least they will be clean as they scamper.  Sigh.

Note:  Borax and sugar; that will get rid of the sugar ants.  Mix dry sugar and Borax and spread it around the counters where you have seen ants.  Do it before bed.  The ants travel in, eat the mixture and carry it back to poison the nest of ants.  Spread it in the sink too, they love moisture.  Next morning clean it all up and put a fresh mixture into tiny bowls placed around the counter.  Be sure to mark the contents so the family does not mistake it for salt.  I have not seen one ant in four days. Yea!

Andy has planted four planters of herbs, bless his heart.  He knows it is too early, but he can't resist.  He's also planted the window boxes.  Today is warm with April showers here and there, so the plants will be safe today at least.

I am on a James Patterson jag.  I've read: Juror#3, The House Next Door, and The First Lady.  I am now on Murder in Paradise which I am having a slight struggle with at the beginning. Maybe I am on the end of a 6 week jag.  I read like crazy and then I don't read anything for a few weeks and then I am back again.

My wise friend has clued me in on three things that have made my life better as she does my hair once a month.  One...the Sleep Number beds.  Andy and I have had a hard time sleeping all night and waking with aches and pains during the night.  We have always had the number 100 set for a firm bed.  Heather, my friend said to try 25 or 30 setting.  I tried it and have had three good nights in a row.  (Andy has not tried it and is still up around 4:00 in the mornings.) Of course, he naps during the day too. Second...Heather wore a pair of shoes after an operation that looked good and felt great.  She is on her feet all day.  They are called O   N  .  They are so comfortable I can wear them all day without a problem.  They will be great to wear tramping Italy.  You can get them online.
Third...I went in to get my hair done this week looking like I had just jumped out of a coo-coo clock.  She said don't you know to sleep on a satin or silk pillow cased pillow.  Who knew????? I Googled Amazon and there is an entire section of pillowcases for hair controlled sleeping. Amazing that I have lived this long and did not know that sleeping on satin pillows keeps your hair in place so that it does not stick up all over your head!!! (I have a lot of exclamation points in this post, but it is all news to me.)

Well, I have shocked you enough for one day.  I will keep you informed on wisdom from Heather as she imparts it to me once a month. I wonder if she knows about sugar ants and their demise??

To the doctor

We are off to the doctor to have Andy checked out since he has had two falls.  We thought to wait until his appointment on the 20th, but aft...
